Your eyesight is our vision.

Why should I have my defective vision corrected?

Laser surgery to correct defective vision offers numerous advantages that can make everyday life much easier and better. Here are some of the most important benefits of being glasses-free:

1. Improved quality of life:

Without the need for glasses, you will enjoy unrestricted vision in all aspects of life. Activities such as sports, swimming or simply wearing sunglasses become much less complicated and more enjoyable.

2. comfort and convenience:
You no longer have to worry about misplacing, fogging or soiling your glasses. No more constant adjusting or cleaning – you simply see clearly.

3. cost savings:
In the long term, you save on the cost of new glasses and contact lenses and their care products. Possible damage or loss of glasses is also a thing of the past.

4. professional advantages:
In many professions, especially those with special safety requirements or physical activities, being glasses-free can be a great advantage. You can concentrate fully on your tasks without being impaired by glasses.

Laser surgery or lens implantation for vision correction offers a sustainable solution to vision problems and allows you to live without the limitations of wearing glasses. Discover the freedom that comes with clear, unobstructed vision!

4 possible paths to freedom from glasses

The choice of the appropriate form of treatment depends on the individual type of defective vision, age and other circumstances. During an initial examination, we will clarify which treatment is suitable for you. Here you will find a brief explanation of the techniques.

PRK or LASIK

PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) and LASIK (laser in situ keratomileusis) are two tried and tested laser eye procedures for correcting visual defects such as short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. Both methods are safe and effective, but differ in their procedure and healing time.

In PRK, the top layer of the cornea, the epithelium, is carefully removed in order to shape the underlying area with an excimer laser. This process only takes a few minutes per eye. The epithelium regenerates itself in the days following the operation, which results in a slightly longer healing phase. PRK is particularly suitable for patients with thin corneas or with certain professional requirements, as no corneal flap is created.

LASIK, on the other hand, involves creating a thin flap in the cornea using a microkeratome or femtosecond laser. This flap is lifted and the excimer laser moulds the underlying tissue. The flap is then put back in place and adheres without sutures. Healing with LASIK is usually faster and less uncomfortable. Many patients report a significant improvement in their vision after just a few hours.

Both procedures are characterised by high success rates and precise results. Our experienced eye surgeons will be happy to advise you on the best method for your individual needs. With state-of-the-art technology and gentle treatment, we ensure that your vision correction is safe and comfortable.

MIOL or ICL

Lens implants such as multifocal intraocular lenses (MIOLs) and implantable contact lenses (ICLs) offer an excellent option for correcting visual defects and can also help patients to become spectacle-free.

MIOLs are special lenses that are used during cataract surgery or as refractive lens replacements. They have several focal points that enable the eye to see both near and distant objects clearly. These lenses are particularly suitable for patients who suffer from presbyopia and want to improve both their near and distance vision. MIOLs can be an excellent option for people who want to get rid of their glasses completely for everyday wear.

ICLs, on the other hand, are special contact lenses that are permanently implanted in the eye without removing the natural lens. This method is particularly suitable for people with high short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism who are not eligible for laser treatment. The procedure is minimally invasive, reversible and offers a quick recovery. ICLs are ideal for patients who are looking for a flexible and customisable vision correction solution and for whom corneal thickness or other factors rule out laser treatment.

When is which procedure used?

Corneal treatments such as PRK and LASIK are preferred for patients with mild to moderate short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism who want quick and effective vision correction. These procedures are particularly suitable for people with sufficiently thick corneas.

Lens implantations such as MIOL and ICL are used when laser treatment is not possible or optimal, for example in cases of very high defective vision, thin corneas or presbyopia. MIOLs are ideal for patients who want to improve both near and distance vision, while ICL offers a reversible solution for severe visual defects. Both methods are suitable for patients looking for a permanent alternative to glasses.

All procedures are safe and offer excellent visual results. Our eye experts will provide you with personalised advice to find the optimal solution for your specific visual needs and reduce your dependence on glasses.

Freedom from glasses pain-free in just 3 hours

Step 1
Preliminary examination
In an initial examination, we clarify whether and for which procedure your eyes are suitable. This examination is completely free of charge and takes about 15 minutes. In particular, we look at your cornea and clarify whether laser treatment is an option. If this is not the case, we will inform you about other options, such as MIOL or ICL, to give you permanently sharp vision - without any aids. Here you will also receive a cost estimate and an appointment for a preliminary examination.

Free of charge, approx. 30min

Step 2
Examination
If laser treatment is an option for you, your vision will be analysed in detail during an examination and the appropriate procedure will be determined. Firstly, we check the results of the brief examination. We measure the iris and cornea to create a precise eye model, which makes it easier to choose the best laser procedure and serves as a guide during the operation. You will also be informed in detail about the surgical procedure.
