Cataract = clouding of the lens
“Cataracts” are the result of progressive ageing of the body’s own eye lens. In children, the lens is clear and unclouded. From the age of 40, the lens loses its flexibility. The dependence on reading glasses increases. From the age of 55, glare increases and vision (visual acuity) subsequently decreases. The lens becomes cloudy.
The time has come for an operation.
Cataracts are not a disease of the eye, but a natural change in the lens of the eye that affects everyone sooner or later. With today’s technology, it is easy to correct this problem with a short, painless and outpatient operation. At the same time, the visual defect is corrected so that the patient can once again fulfil today’s visual requirements without glasses.
