How safe is laser eye surgery?
Thanks to modern laser devices and established medical standards, laser eye surgery is now one of the safest methods for correcting refractive errors.

Before each treatment, a comprehensive diagnostic examination is carried out to ensure that your eyes are suitable for laser eye surgery.

What risks are associated with laser eye surgery?
As with any medical procedure, certain risks cannot be completely excluded.
More common temporary side effects include dry eyes, increased light sensitivity or halos and glare – especially at night.
These usually subside on their own within the first weeks.
Serious complications such as infections or undercorrection/overcorrection are very rare.
With careful diagnostics, modern laser technology and precise treatment planning, these risks can be significantly minimized.
For an individual assessment and detailed consultation about possible side effects, we are always available.
Does health insurance cover the costs?
In general, basic insurance does not cover laser eye surgery, as it is classified as an elective or comfort treatment.
Some supplemental insurances contribute with payments or lump sums.
It is therefore worth asking your insurance directly whether and to what extent cost participation is possible.
Only in rare medical exceptional cases – for example, a very large difference in refractive error between the two eyes – may coverage be considered.
