What is an ICL lens implantation?
The ICL, also called a phakic intraocular lens, is a very thin, individually customized artificial lens that is implanted into the eye in addition to the natural lens.
It sits between the iris (colored part of the eye) and the natural lens – completely invisible and without any noticeable change in how your vision feels.
Unlike refractive lens exchange, the natural lens remains fully intact.
The ICL simply adds to its function.
This makes the procedure reversible: the lens can be removed or replaced if necessary.
